Application and Admission Requirements
The Admission Committee at the Lisbon MBA evaluates the applications on a rolling basis, throughout the year. Competitive candidates are selected based on their:
- Strong academic foundation - candidates should hold a university degree
- At least 3 years of professional work experience
- English language proficiency
- Interpersonal Skills: emotional intelligence, committment in teamwork, leadership skills
- Community engagement prospects: through social projects, sports etc
- Global visions: through intercultural awareness, travelling experience, foreign languages proficiency
A complete application to The Lisbon MBA International should include the following:
- Online Application - consisting of four essays on given topics
- A maximum 2 page CV
- University transcripts - issued by the academic institution from which the candidate has received their most recent degree
- GMAT or GRE scores - the recommended scores should be at least 600
- English language tests scores for candidates whose first language is not English: TOEFL, IELTS, CAE, CPE or PTE Academic
- Two letters of recommendations - submitted via the online application form
- Application fee (€85)

Program Curriculum
The Lisbon MBA International curriculum is organized as follows:
Term 1 to 3 - Business Administration Fundamentals
During the first months of study, from January to May, candidates will expole core skills and knowledge of international business administration through coursework in marketing, organizations, economics, strategy, accounting, and finance.
The Friday Forums offer candidates perfect opportunities to develop their interpersonal skills.
MIT Sloan School of Management Immersion
Over four weeks in the month of June, candidates study at the MIT campus in Boston, USA. The subjects covered include global issues in management and technological innovation. While living on campus at MIT, students have the opportunity to explore the cities of Cambridge and Boston and experience life at one of the world's top universities. Students have the chance to experience different learning methodology as well as meet innovative companies in the area.
Action Learning: Summer Internship, International Labs or Entrepreneurial Hub
A summer internship gives candidates the opportunity to apply the knowledge covered during lectures in a practical environment, within a company that best suit their business interests
Alternatively, candidates may attend the international lab to further explore an International integration on Chinese or Brazilian markets. Students who choose this option will be integrated on our Portugal-China Lab or our Portugal-Brazil Lab, developed in partnership with Fudan University Shangai and Insper in São Paulo.
The third option, the entrepreneurial hub, offer candidates the opportunity to explore entrepreneurial ideas and develop practical entrepreneurial skills while taking advantage of the numerous learning opportunities, networking events with companies from the field and specialized coaching with fellow entrepreneurs.
Terms 4 and 5 - Focusing on Personal Goals
On return to Lisbon, candidates may choose from broad curriculum of elective courses, which will help them diversify the learning experience or choose between working on an existing consulting project or developing own business plans. A highlight is the Career Plus module which enables candidates to develop the perfect strategy and final training to achieve their career plans. Leadership skills and personal development will continue through the Friday Forum Series.
The last term also brings a Business Case Competition, where candidates will work in teams on solving a real-life problem for an organization with the chance for special awards. Previous business cases came from EFACEC, Grupo Pestana, UNICRE, and Saphety.

Expenses / Tuition Fees
The tuition fees for the Lisbon MBA International amount to a total of €35,000, which is payable in four installments. This investment covers course materials, required cases and other educational materials, as well as traveling to and the accommodation at MIT Sloan School of Management, in Boston, USA.
These fees do not include living expenses. The costs of living in Lisbon are generally lower than those of other major European cities, making it much easier for candidates to afford a good quality of living throghout the program.
On campus accommodation is limited - however, the Admissions Team can put you in touch with local real estate agencies that will assist in your housing search in Lisbon.
Funding options
The Lisbon MBA business school offers a number of scholarships to help candidates finance their studies:
- Merit-based scholarships - Grants covering up to half of the tuition fee are awarded to candidates with high GPA scores and excellent interpersonal skills
- Entrepreneur scholarship - Awarded to students who have started own businesses and work full time on it
- Rising start scholarship - Awarded to candidates with a strong professional background, younger than 30
The Lisbon MBA works closely with several Portuguese banks to offer students favorable conditions on educational loans.
