The program is interested in candidates who have embarked on their careers and who would like to enhance their formal understanding of business and management in order to perform at a higher level in their current jobs and to prepare for even greater responsibilities in the future.

Admission to the TEXAS Executive MBA at Mexico City program is highly competitive. The admissions committee reviews applications on an individual basis, looking at both the quantitative and qualitative aspects of an applicant’s professional and academic background. In reviewing applications, the committee seeks to assess an individual’s potential for academic success and future professional growth. Those candidates who appear to be most competitive for admission will be invited to interview with the director or designated representative of the program.

The TEXAS Executive MBA at Mexico City starts accepting applications in September. We strongly recommend that all applicants apply as early as possible. The admissions committee begins to review applications upon receipt, using a rolling admissions policy, generally reviewing applications in the order of their receipt. The earlier the application is submitted, the better are the chances of being accepted. Applications received after June 1 will be considered only if space is still available.

  • Develop skills for improving individual and group performance

Executive MBA at Mexico City Program

The Executive MBA at Mexico City is a two-year MBA program. It is designed for mid-career managers who are at general management levels or who will soon assume those responsibilities. The alternating cycle—Friday and Saturday classes every two weeks at the Tecnológico de Monterrey - Campus Santa Fe—permits continued full-time employment while providing time for work, study and family commitments. Students examine new paradigms for analyzing business situations and learn how to apply innovative leadership skills that enhance communication and interpersonal relationships within their organizations.

A highlight of the Executive MBA at Mexico City program is the set of two week-long Austin Intensives that are an integral part of this powerful educational experience. The two Intensives are held in Austin during August at the beginning of each academic year. Their focus is to prepare students to excel in the fall curriculum by providing a framework for intensive study of the core business functions. In addition to introductory lectures for the fall semester courses, participants are given specialized instruction on group dynamics, communication skills and familiarization with university resources. The Austin Intensive classes are held at the McCombs School, with students residing at The Driskill Hotel in Austin.

The third week-long experience is held at an international location in May of Year Two. The emphasis of this international seminar is on emerging issues in global management. Lectures and discussion on a variety of topics serve to synthesize the entire curriculum and provide closure for the program. This past year students traveled to Vienna and Budapest on their International Study Tour.

Participants follow a cohort system in which they take all of their coursework at the same time and in the same sequence. Following a cohort system allows the program to enhance teamwork, promote peer interaction and simulate real-world work environments.
