Program description

Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and Frankfurt University's Goethe Business School have joined forces and established the Duke Goethe Executive MBA, a dual- degree, 22-month executive MBA program for working executives.

The Duke Goethe Executive MBA program officially launched in May 2005 with an inaugural class of 33 students. The program enables working professionals to pursue an MBA degree without career interruption. Teaching will take place mainly at Frankfurt's new Campus Westend, combined with two weeks of classroom instruction at the Duke campus in North Carolina and through the Internet using Duke's distance-learning platform.

Application and Admission Requirements

The Duke Goethe Executive MBA program targets high-potential professionals with an average of eight years and a minimum of three years of work experience. The program is challenging and admission is selective. The admissions committee strives to build a diverse class so that all participants can contribute to and benefit from the educational environment.

Sponsoring organizations may support a Duke Goethe Executive MBA student in two ways:

    Financial Support
Sponsoring companies may choose to fully or partially fund the Duke Goethe Executive MBA participants. The financial support could include the tuition cost and/or paid or partially paid leave to attend the sessions.

    Time
Sponsoring organizations must grant their employees the necessary time away from the office to attend classes. In addition, companies need to accommodate students' shifting time commitments and help them delegate more broadly in order to balance work, family and academic needs.
